Human Resource  Mentor

 

The Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture of Saida and South Lebanon , Lebanese partner of the MEDSt@rts Project is looking for mentor(s) who are responsible for the provision of support and assistance services to the 15 MEDSt@rts entrepreneurs and startups through online mentorship sessions.

The investment mentor is responsible for drafting investment plans and strategies for each entrepreneur, that allow them to set realistic and long-term goals. Mentors should provide participants with personalized advice based on market trends and their particular needs. The aim of the mentorship sessions is to allow mentees the knowledge and skills-base necessary to attract national and international investors.

Instructions

1. General Information:

Subject of the contract: Provision of Technical services as indicated in the TOR

Deadline for submission of the tenders: The tender shall arrive 23 August, 2021, 16 :00 pm

Address and means for submission of the tenders: The tenderers shall submit their tenders using the sample submission form available in Part 2 of this tender dossier. The tender shall be submitted in 1 (one) original. In case of e-mail submission, the tenderer may provide a scanned original.

If delivery by post or courier, the tenders shall be submitted in two separate envelopes:

  • envelope one for the tenderer’s information, the tenderer’s statement and the technical offer and
  • envelope two for the financial information.

An envelop including both envelopes will contain the following information at the external part:

Name and address of the contracting authority

Title of the tender

Reference number

Name and address of the tenderer

 

If delivery by e-mail, the message shall clearly indicate:

Reference number

Name and address of the tenderer

The tender submission form and any supporting documentation shall be provided as attachement to the e-mail.

 

 

 

 

 

2. Technical Information :

 

The tenderers are required to provide services as per TOR. In the technical offer, the tenderers will indicate more details on the deliverables, and required time frame. 

 

3. Financial Information

 

The maximum available value of the contract is 4500 EUR or its equivalent  in national currency.

 

4. The selection criteria:

 

The award criterion is best value for money, weighting 80% technical quality and 20% price.

Duration of Appointement: 30 working days (150 hrs.)

Background

 

As a partner in the MEDST@rts project, the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture in Sidon and South Lebanon (CCIAS) is implementing the project activities in Lebanon. MEDSt@rts - Med microfinance support system for start-ups - project is financed by the European Union’s ENI CBC Med Programme and implemented between October 2019 and April 2022 in Italy, Greece, Tunisia, Palestine and Lebanon by a partnership of 7 organizations.

 

MEDSt@rts addresses young and highly motivated people with innovative ideas - usually high-risk companies - and supports them in developing their business. CCIAS intends to recruit a qualified Investment Mentor who will carry out activities related to the project. The objective of the assignment is to provide 15 start-ups with Professional counseling and advice, focusing on skills training, business guidance, Professional contacts, and problem-solving.

 

 

Scope of Work

 

As part of MedSt@rts objectives for satinable development and durability, mentor(s) are responsible for the provision of support and assistance services to the 15 MedSt@rts entrepreneurs and startups through online mentorship sessions. The mentor is responsible for transferring viable and necessary knowledge and skills needed for each individual project to succeed.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The investment mentor is responsible for drafting investment plans and strategies for each entrepreneur that allow them to set realistic and long-term goals. Mentors should provide participants with personalized advice based on market trends and their particular needs. The aim of the mentorship sessions is to allow mentees the knowledge and skills-base necessary to attract national and international investors.

 

Output

Providing a total of 150 hours of one-to-one mentorship sessions to at least 3 up to 15 startups, teams, and entrepreneurs, accordingly  each startup/team receives a total of 10 up to 50 hours of HR and management -related mentorship during the timespan decided by CCIAS

Assistance of the MedSt@rts entrepreneurs in drafting and developing complete and comprehensive  HR and management plans/ strategies

Provision of mentorship sessions covering essential HR and management-related skills and know-how, including but not limited, to the following:

- Provide the mentees with the appropriate HR / management plan to ensure its success

- Provide advice, guidance on applicable management techniques to facilitate work efficiency and effectiveness

- Identification of the strengths and weaknesses of each mentee

- Development of HR/ management records

Organize meetings with possible Legal advisors

Follow up/ coaching entrepreneurs in implementing the plan over a period of six months

Qualification, Knowledge and Experience

 

At least a Bachelor Degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Finance, Business or any other relevant field

● Extensive experience on building capacities of businesses in the agrofood,digital, echodesign, sanitizing technologies  and craftsmanship sectors

● Personal flexibility and high motivation

● Experience in similar projects and working in teams
