WELCOME TO CCIAS

The Chamber was established in 1933 as a non - profit organization under public law , with the aim of protecting and prompting economic interests by developing a constructive relationship between the private the and the public entities.

The chamber enjoys administrative and financial independence and is under the tutelage of the Ministry of Economy and Trade. To that end, the chamber provides the concerned ministry with a yearly activity report, its yearly budget and an audited financial statement. CCI also enjoys close links with government ministries and agencies thus ensuring a speedy exchange of information.

The chamber has been entrusted by the government with the task of attesting invoices and issuing certificates of origin and submitting of commercial documents relating to the export of goods from Lebanon.
Objectives

The CCI Objectives are targeted at two levels: to take care of member's interest, and at the same time, to represent the country's economic sectors.

Its Objectives can be summarized as follows:

  • Rebuilding the human and structural capacities of SME's, and advancing its efficiency and ability to perform its functions.
  • Serving as a special platform to address the concerns of the business community and to put accross to the government the business views of the private sector.
  • Developing relationships and working closely with local, regional and International organizations to produce and fund workshops, seminars as well as conferences on various economic topics.
  • Providing information and a network of contacts to potential members and to businessmen with direct Lebanese business dealings, as well as to those who have an intention to do business in Lebanon.
  • Looking forward to enhance stronger relationships among its members, coordinating activities, requests, and needs of all productive sectors.
  • Developing its world wide web internet site with a plan for regular update, links to other sites, and creative expansion.
  • Establishing an information administration center with the aim to promote the efficient and effective use of information gathered, and formalize this information as a key asset in the business development of the South Region.
  • Ensuring potential improvement of job efficiency and productivity within the chamber's workplace.


Relationships

The chamber maintains strong cooperation and coordination links with the Federation of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture in Lebanon. CCI has also strong contacts with many leading Lebanese Business organizations and chambers.

The chamber also maintains strong ties with several regional and international chambers and Federations including:

  • General Union of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture for the Arab Countries
  • Association of the Mediterranean Chambers of Commerce and Industry
  • Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Industry
